Educational Visit to Indian Red Cross Society, Bengaluru.
One day educational visit organized by the Department of Community Health Nursing RV College of Nursing visited to Indian Red Cross Society, Bengaluru on 16 th May 2023.
The visit comprised students of 4 th year Basic B.Sc Nursing accompanied by the faculty from the department of Community health nursing.
We reached Indian Red Cross Society Campus at 10.30 am. Sri Balasubramanya,
General Secretary, IRCS warmly welcomed all of us and explained the organization structure and functions of IRCS to our students.
Mr. Shankar, Lab technician, IRCS taken our students to the blood bank and explained the method of blood collection and its storage in the laboratory.
Then, we took group photographs at IRCS and thanked them for their guidance and sharing the valuable information about IRCS. We departed IRCS at 12.30 pm and reached RVCN.
The 2 nd and 3 rd year B.Sc nursing students participated in a live interactive session with the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswas Sarma which was organised by Thinkers Forum at Yuvakara Sanga Auditorium, Jayanagar 4 th Block Bangalore
World No Tobacco Day-2023.
The Department of Community Health Nursing & the NSS Unit of RV college of Nursing observed World No Tobacco Day -2023 on 31st June 2023. The students participated in poster competition, short film making and rangoli competition organized by Karnataka Cancer Society (Regd) Bangalore at Seshadripuram Main College, Nagappa Street, Bengaluru.
NURSES DAY CELEBRATION
International Nurses Day is observed around the world on 12 May the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society.R V College of Nursing,Bangalore celebrated International Nurses Day on 5 th May 2023 with great grandeur.The theme “Our Nurses, Our Future”. was upheld throughout the day and young nurses were encouraged to be involved in professional development with great zeal & enthusiasm The day begun by invoking blessings of lord almighty by lighting the traditional lamp. Dr. S R Gajendra Singh, Board of Studies-UG Chairman & Principal, R V College of Nursing, Bangalore welcomed the dignitaries on the Dias which included Chief Guest of the day Dr K Ravi, Director, Department of Medical Education, Govt of Karnataka, Bengaluru, and other guest of honors.
Dr Munir Ahmed, Director, RAATI-DCD, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bengaluru, Sri Prasanna Kumar O, Registrar, Karnataka State Nursing Council, Bengaluru.Prof L E Madhumathi, Principal, East Point College of Nursing, Bengaluru and Smt Kamala Hugar, Honorary President, ViKNOWA Bengaluru .A note of welcome was also extended to Sri Venkatesh Babu Trustee member & Chairman Governing Council of R V college of nursing who presided over the program.All dignatairies on dias addressed the audience and appreciated the nursing students for having taken up the noble profession of nursing.The awardees Dr Siddaramiah,Professor,Gangothri College of Nursing,Dr Jayalakshmi HOD Dept of Pediatrics,Government College of Nursing,Bengaluru,Mrs Saraswathi B Nursing Superintendent ,KIDWAI,Smt Sudhabai B R Retired Public Health Nurse & Mrs Leela Ganesh Retired Government Officer Bengaluru addressed the gathering & shared their life experiences. The dignitaries & awardees were honored & were acknowledged on their significant contribution in professional development.
